Outlook on life: "In order to live a happy life, you just gotta be happy with yourself. Fuck everybody else. If you're not happy with what you're like, your job, or what you look like even - change it. And you can't just let one bad thing that happened ruin your day. If at the end of the night you're smiling, it means you've had a good day. In my case, I have a daughter and she's the only person I put before myself in this sense. That sounds horrible, but you gotta make sure you're happy before you can go around trying and pleasing everyone. After you are happy, then go for it! The second best thing to being happy is being around happy people."
Father's opinion on him: "Emery has a good heart. I'll say that to begin with. He's always been the type to go out of his way to make someone smile, and he's very friendly. I have no doubt that he'll be able to make and keep friends who will stick around and love him just as I love him. However, somewhere along the way of growing into his teen years, I believe he lost himself. Drugs have begun to take over his life, and he failed last year because of it. If I didn't have the connections, I wouldn't have been able to pull the strings I did to get him in this school again. If he doesn't shape up, I really don't know what I'm going to do with him. There's not much else I can do to help after a certain point and I fear my money will not last him forever, as much as I wish it could."
About his daughter: At age sixteen, Emery fell in love. That was what he thought it was, anyways. Long story short, he wound up caring for a human being by eighteen and he was left as that little girl's sole parent. He hadn't expected her mother to run off like she did, but either way, he loved and cared for the child to the upmost of his abilities but juggling school and everything else along with the child, named Kenzie, became incredibly difficult. He did have the help of his dad though, and he still does though it's an understatement to say he takes advantage of that. His drug use progressively got worse as his stress increased and it's easy to say his dad takes more care of Kenzie now than Emery ever did. Despite this, when he's not off getting high, Emery spends most of his free time with his daughter and he loves her unconditionally. He likes to think he puts her before himself, however he hasn't quite realized how selfish he's been by being so absent.

unique living situation: instead of living in the dorms like 99.99% of the students at st. mary's do, he lives with his father at home because of his child, who not only needs a nanny during the day but needs his attention when he's not in school. this works mostly because his dad is a teacher and he can get rides to and from school.
goal, dream: to be a lead singer in a well known band and somehow raise his kid at the same time.
